 Halloween Poetry 1. Dusk in Autumn Sara Teasdale The moon is like a scimitar, A little silver scimitar, A-drifting down the sky. And near beside it is a star, A timid twinkling golden star, That watches likes an eye.  Place Value   Math 1. What is place value? Ans: The position of a digit in a number that is used to determine the value of the digit. Example:  in 5,318 the 3 is in the hundreds place. So, the 3 has a value of 300. 2. What is digit? Ans: The symbols used to show numbers: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 Whole numbers : The numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and so on. The exponent is the number that tells how many times a base number is used as a factor.
